And so they abducted Gideon from prison of Lords, to finally find answers to his questions. And there begins a journey with many ups and downs, emotions and agonies. And more surprises. Scarlet is torn whether they perhaps could not but love Gideon and Gideon tried everything to win this woman for themselves. And why is the demon of nightmares, who lives in Scarlet, so pleased with Gideon? Why is the demon of lies in Gideon so fascinated by Scarlet? What connection have both?
Your affection is put to the test, which can both survive only together - and for Gideon is sometimes very painful. For not only did he always have to lie, even his demon. And if this one is telling the truth, Gideon must suffer agony instantly again.
While the two so find out why Gideon can not remember Scarlet and what past they have to Amun, Aeron and William make their way to hell to save Legion from Lucifer's clutches. Since neither Aeron nor William wearing a demon in itself, it is Amun who must take most torments upon himself. And when the demon guardian of secrets is his curse, every secret, every memory and every thought of his enemies (and even the thoughts of his friends he can hear) absorb them. That he is preparing this endless pain, is probably not be dismissed out of hand.
Meanwhile, the hunters are on their way to the castle to storm this. As the castle is not just protected, because a lot of the warrior is missing, the remaining warriors decide to bring the artifact to safety.
Lucien and Anya bring the cage in safety, Reyes ineptly Danika and Strider disappears with the cape.
On his journey he meets an old acquaintance (mildly) that casts his plan a little off track. Will he survive the challenge and be able to protect the artifact?
What about Gideon and Scarlet? Will remember Gideon again? Or was it all just a lousy plan of the gods? And what happens with the warriors in Hell? Will they be able to save Legion?
Personal Conclusion: Wow! What are please Aerons torments compared with Gideon? The poor tormented by Scarlet, tormented by the gods and is very early aware of his feelings for the young woman. But Scarlet is damn stubborn. Oh yes, even worse than Danika.
What has pleased me was the fact that Galen was finally tortured once. Unfortunately Scarlet had thus not achieved what they wanted - the shot went foolishly backfires.
Rhea has proved to be a real bitch who even does not hesitate to torment her own daughter and with her sister, Mnemosyne, is doing everything to divide the young love. Mnemosyne, goddess of memory, a person can only by skin contact plant the worst memories and you think immediately that it really happened so. That it does not work at Gideon's happiness. Because Gideon recognizes a lie ten mile off. But with her niece Scarlet woman has an easy time and really enjoys. That of all Mnemosyne is the lover of Cronus, does not make things easier.
And Torin? Torin now I like more and more. At first he was still somehow distant, they had to learn not really much of it, but has nevertheless always have to suffer with him. For he is doomed never to touch another person without having the fear of infecting them directly with a disease. But this man is damn loyal and monitors the entire castle and Budapest using cameras from his bedroom. And he spends himself as a "protector of the universe", makes him much more sympathetic. The dialogues are partly to throw away - especially, of course, between Strider and Torin - or Gideon and Torin - or Scarlet and Torin (somehow always Torin, I know).
And even Cronus is no longer the son of a bitch, as I thought it initially. He has now shown that he is not so power hungry and selfish but as a first ever occurred. And finally also the secret of why he is getting younger clears (I tell not of course).
All in all, "The Darkest Lie" a great book. Although it is sometimes difficult to translate Gideon lies and find out the real meaning - especially since it's just not even appeared in the German - but my story between him and Scarlet liked very much. And yes - even here I have suffered and shed tears ... when I consider as evil played both.
But most of all, what will become of Amun, who suffered bloody much torment in hell. And with Strider, who is still not returned until the end of the book - and above all, what they say about how his journey has gone out. All this is in the next book, to be read "The Darkest Secret", which soon will hopefully its way into my hands. I can in any case hardly wait.
"The Darkest Lie" is definitely recommended and Gideon is now to Maddox and Reyes at the top of my popularity. Has never been so beautiful lie :)
