First you should start with the fact that you clean the movable / removable parts. Big plus: All these parts can also be put in the dishwasher. If you have this once removed and used, one is quasi also familiar with the handling. Because there is not much more to do except to insert the plug and enter the time at which the food to be fried. Simple :)
We first tested Frozen deep-fried. It should say so in advance: It's not like a normal fryer that frying goes quite fast. Some patience is called for. It takes about as long as the oven - but for the result for us is much sweeter than if done only fries in the oven. Crunchy, yet soft inside - perfect. In addition, one needs no additional oil in the preparation of frozen products.
Next we tried the one potato wedges and homemade fries. Here it is important the potatoes when they are cut, wash and dry again. After a measuring spoon comes into the device and after about 25 minutes, the French, etc. removed. WOW - were even more delicious than the finished version. You know now what it always is with us - because those are the best chips * yamyam *
Also dishes you can prepare with the Actifry. There is also a nice enclosed recipes book. The dishes are simple to perform - so perfect for in-between, because one does not have to run too much hassle. Unfortunately, the app, to which one is referred for more recipes in English. While I can English well, so far not much of a problem - but I would have here simply a consumer-friendly, German variant desired recipe with greater diversity (if you already advertises!).
The problem arises something when you have something with breading. Because the paddle has the ability to destroy the breading partially. Here it makes sense to remove the agitator and the thus created opening to protect against dirt that comes inside the unit with a votive glass (candle-glass).
The Actifry mini fryer is for two to max. three persons optimal - for families, I would definitely recommend a larger version.
CONCLUSION: A great device. Although not a fast frying, but considerably healthier than a conventional fryer. Therefore we can only give 5-deserved star - because that is innovative and something of delicious !!!
