If I do not already have it - at this price I would have slammed shut. Although Nikon still the 1.4 / 85 has in the program - the "faint" sister model is a top-class optics. Whether portrait with nice background or dissolved as a classic reportage lens, I do about 80% of my pictures with the 85er. The quality is herausstechend and from Aperture 4 one sees no difference to the expensive and heavy 1.4 model (measurement technology, the pictures can anyway hardly anyone tell the difference ....)
