The spirit that exudes this album, I took in Van last initial, mid-nineties true on albums like Hymns to the Silence or The Healing Game: inspired, soulful, emotional, marked by firing horn sections and ecstatic singing. Not by chance some songs from this phase are also represented at the Duets, Some Peace of Mind as a great introduction with Bobby Womack, Fire in the Belly, outstanding with Steve Winwood. Not every recording on this album is so successful as mentioned, not every song wins (Rough God Goes Riding not rough with daughter Shana), sometimes the duet partner also reduces the echo (with Brian Kennedy fit the time, but here at the represented top notch artists seems it but a bit unimaginative in). Overall recommended for Van fans, also a suggestion to hear once again through the füllhornartigen catalog of the Bard.
