In the case of minify BS03 Speaker Stand is the MMN on the border!
But first things first:
First, the speaker stands come in decently packaged in polystyrene.
The assembly instructions are concise and consists only of figures, explain the scope of supply and the various assembly steps enough transparent. A matching 10er wrench is incidentally included; additional mounting accessories is not required.
Care must be taken when assembling that you all fixed "in one go" to match with the one parent. Namely, for example, the upper glass plate, or the aluminum strut is not accurately / sit symmetrically to each other and you want to readjust something to the internal iron rod rotates out of the upper thread. Can you now probably do not really understand when you do not have the parts in front of him!
One must then the mother also quite brachial * attract, otherwise the construction wobbles but then, at least, if you put a 7.7 kg heavy box it! The Capacity manufacturer should but lt. Be 10 kg.
* Brachial so far because one with a washer on a plastic frame screwed the Muttter (is and also the other side of the aluminum body finished by a piece of plastic). The sculpture expresses itself in screws then somewhat inward due to the pressure by the screw.
The whole thing holds then just like that! But it stops - the only question is: how long ?!
In the first few days after installation I did crack a few times, or even popping even more heard from the direction of the speaker stand! But happens (at least visibly) nothing.
The speaker stands are both inclined wrong. This can be seen purely visual and easy to confirm by the spirit level. Both stands are each inclined to a corner. The schieferen the two stand I also specially again screwed, looked to see whether everything was sitting properly and accurately re-screwed together - with constant results.
Now you might correct the possibly by appropriate fine-tuning of the screw-spikes. In my case, however, does not go, because I have decided not to use it, where would I be the next point of criticism:
I find it very unfortunate and inconvenient that let the spikes Unscrew not completely out of the lower glass shelf. A 1 cm long metal cylinder (at the four corners) is glued to the glass plate and in this the actual spike tip is then screwed.
It would also allerdngs by design so that the glass plate without this overhanging metal attachments had below is not stable because the center screw, something survives under the glass plate that holds the whole system.
But in my case, I wanted the spikes do not let "sting" in the carpet, on the one hand, because the unsightly holes are, partly because I did not want to dock at the bottom of the speaker stand, but decouple (at least predominates in relevant HiFi forums the believes that metal spikes dock!).
Therefore, I decided for a self-construction in this area: I glued four Gummigranulatpads (90x90x20 mm) below the glass plate. That was of course only after I each in place (!) Had drilled a corresponding hole of the rubber, so that I could stick despite the metal cylinder.
A good idea would have been MMN when in addition to the metal spikes possibly large screw rubber feet would have included what the product would have also become more expensive again ... or alternatively with rubber feet, as if already metal spikes, then would actually appropriate washers should be included. For I could not imagine a floor covering, which I just so wanted to make good conscience the sharp metal spikes me!
Well, now they are in my living room and serve their purpose. And see here also quite elegant from ... but on this occasion a little something: the aluminum body is not square (which, however, the stability would have been beneficial!), But measures 7 x 4.3 cm. So there is a wide and a narrow side. The only way. And - sorry - when I saw the "inlay" when unpacking, I had to laugh first! It is a slightly matt (available in different colors) Plastic slide on one of the broad sides of the aluminum body. The aluminum body is thus not closed, but only has three sides. The fourth is (in case of doubt not necessarily conducive to the stability) of said plastic insert.
Since the decorative inlay (in my case black) has a matte finish, it seems somehow not to want to fit as 100% for the remaining high-gloss cabinet.
In my opinion it would have been more "of a piece" worked when it would have had the same piano finish, or if you would just simply painted a square Alustrebe no frills!
And who the whole now ordered, for example, in light "maple" or "beech", must turn the stand, or the body all right, so you ever seen anything like this!
Again I had to laugh when looking at the "fall protection": This is a Velcro strip, which can be strapped to speakers and glass plate!
So I think you would have to stand can also produce something solid, such as a closed square aluminum body which is also not up and down his supporting statements by plastic covers! (Similar plastic brackets I once knew of a shelf where the parts provided with appropriate plastic pin, two shelving units stuck together. When I mined the shelf for a few years, because of relocation, these were the parts that simply broke away immediately at the slightest change in voltage so! ) The higher construction would have then highlight as a selling point and no less than 5, - to 10, - have asked for more.
Briefly summarized Pro / Cons:
+ Visually appealing, elegant (matter of taste)
+ Does the job
- Not directly unstable, but you have already given the materials used (partially plastic) screws "unhealthy" to (7.7 kg in my case) to maintain a stable level in more severe shelf speakers
- Does the use of plastic to the supporting elements not inspire confidence (which relates longevity)
- Light slate Stand (at a stand is the bubble of the spirit level on the marker line)
- Only available with ankoppelnden pointed metal spikes, but without washers
- Although the metal spikes can be unscrewed, but not an approximately 1 cm long glued to the glass bottom metal cylinder (but due to a protruding bolt / nut in the glass bottom center would anyway without this metal cylinder no stable state possible) -> alternative rubber feet or rubber feet instead the spikes would have been desirable (so that, who wants the spikes along with washers, can buy more even, because the washers have to buy anyway (depending on soil))
- Color-selectable "inlay" on one side (the other three sides of the center bar ("aluminum body") are always black
Would I buy it again? "Yes and no", I would at least once thoroughly after possibly more significant alternatives (if possible with completely removable spikes) then look around for a few euros more.
