Gardena 1255-20 Valve Box V3 (without valve) (Garden & Outdoors)

Customer Review

Rarely am I so disagree with me when it comes to a vote. Sometimes can also provide many details bring much joylessness ...

Let's start with the good ... I have in the box belonging 24V valves for several years in the fully automatic use and works quite well. Although the box is extra lot, but if you have it set up ready, then it is still significantly neater than the alternative own solution ... just as one would expect. It might accordingly be awarded also 5 star ...

So why only 3 stars? As I said, lots of little things. Every single one of them would be inconsequential, but in total just for me.

First, I agree with another reviewer who complained that there is not the box with more ports and which also criticized as unfavorable drainage connection can be reached with your fingers. Have my doubts whether I will be able to lock first ever now and then later get tight again.

But let's start at the front of ... I wanted were the Box for a location where previously hoses and faucets as a kind of manual distribution. Ergo I wanted to connect hoses and not provided by Gardena pipes. The crazy thing is that in reality hose connectors are included, but this is not mentioned anywhere. So I had to assume that since I myself must provide a solution to me. But I have become half mad with the abstruse logic, "are referred to, which have more than 33mm in diameter, whereas those then with 25mm as 3/4" to which ports are designated as 1 - which of course contradicts the definition of customs with 25, 4 mm is. Elsewhere the 25mm threads are then designated as 1 '- time is just a' G 'in front of it and sometimes not, this wild conversation Inge between mm and inch, with or without' G 'has me so confused that I did not at the end. knew more, which adapter I need now. I spent there really hours. In the end I decided to call the Gardena Hotline. If everywhere in the operating instructions under customer ... only shared one with me, such information ("Sales Consulting") one would generally not give, but I should like to address in order to dealers Alone for this insolence -. describe only difficult to understand, then will not provide support - I subtract a star because, unfortunately, the dealer, which I called were unsure. . Many told me that he had called Gardena and had told him, the box would not generally with hose, because no one had to try the box at what fits. Real, these adapters are already very expensive and you need to Box 4 ... Sorry, but the circus has annoyed me maximum. A simple sentence, which says that hose adapters are included, would have saved me a lot of time.

Next trifle ... the cover. He does not go easily from, but in non-buried state he charged open pretty much the little plastic, what passes as a hinge. In other words, you have to be careful during the assembly, not to break the thing. I would have preferred, as one would rundrum 4 clips and a continuous rubber seal would not have been bad. So the lid is on everyone's favorite. I bet there is in 0, nothing dirty in the box.

Then ... the "terminal block" ... is actually not. It is not long ago, it was frowned upon to screw more than one cable to one side in a terminal block. Therefore, one had 2 screws for each terminal - one each for the coming and the going cable. Here you have only one screw and must thus clamp both cables. Much better it would be natural if Gardena cable assemblies and connectors would provide, rather than appropriate for the Customer the Elektrofrickellei. One must bear in mind that you possibly want reinnehmen in winter the box eventually.

We come to the mechanical assembly. OK, it went. But not just like it says in the manual. If I, as described, the long telescopic tubes replacements and the short verschraube the valve, then I no longer have enough space cross over to block the valve. To make room, I had to make the first steps backward and solve the manifold. As an engineer, I believe I have not missed me there. It would be much easier if Gardena would change in the description of the sequence a little ... well, not a drama, but not beautiful.

Otherwise, as far as everything OK. I think Gardena should offer the box completely assembled and not just foist the costly manual work to the customer. For the money (300, - EUR for box, valves, cables and control) of the assembly should be feasible in the large-scale production. The only confusing separation of Gardenasysteme in professional and non-professional, sprinklers and god knows what in interaction with not more helpful hotline and insanely expensive adapters between all the connection variants I find targeted attack on the purse strings of those customers who are not professionally involved in the issue are familiar. I have now 10 adapter left ...

But work does already ;-) ...
