Height and weight:
The device measures about 45 cm in width, in depth about 33 cm and 19 cm in height and weighs a little over 6 kg.
Processing:
I feel the Mufu as well made, nothing rattles or wobbles. The open design is sensitive to dust, I have upped the ante a cardboard. There is not really a paper tray, the sheets are simply pushed forward down the door can still be close, when a few leaves are inserted. Bit fiddly it is when small objects are to be printed, to change the size you have to dig deep into the tray and adjust. Or use the ADF.
Color cartridges:
There are the black cartridge 301 and 301 tri-color required. Both at Amazon as XL version (400 and 330 pages) to the 20, - Euro. There is also a double full-size, this is for about 23, - Euro to have. It was me before buying the device recognizes that no single color cartridges can be replaced, but I consider that due to the change print heads rather than advantage. I'm a little printer (in the month about 20 pages), so not much is lost if the cartridge really dry times, because every new cartridge also has a new printhead. The supplied cartridges are not always empty, although I have about 30 pages printed, copied and scanned, black and in color.
Preparation:
Before installing the software is to perform the following steps: Remove all tapes, connect the Mufu with the power cord, insert the supplied color cartridges. The printer then prints automatically a test page, which one scans to calibrate the scanner again. Once this is done, you can even copy and scan. Then it goes with the software on.
Installation:
I have recorded the software on the included CD and thereby renounces all separate programs, installs only the basics. This took about 10 minutes and was very easy. Man is guided step by step through the program, for example has. The choice of connecting via USB or Wi-Fi. Should the programs also offered (Photo software, help-create documents, HP Help, etc.) at a later time but still want to import, simply insert the CD again and everything goes his way. If everything is installed, the printer is ready for use. From my perspective, the printing result is beautiful, the colors are not too bright, tired of the black. A paper jam was so far not yet available.
Display:
It's black and white and can be operated using various "push buttons". On the Home Cottage you will find the basic settings: Copy, Fax, Scan, the Wireless. directly, ink levels, Printables, Quick Format, Tools, Preferences, Wireless. Among them each the matching submenu. Everything that can be eye chooses, must be confirmed with the "OK" button. There is also a "back" arrow. Among the extras one finds: Cleaning the print head, align the printer, remove dirt, print status report, and print quality report "back to defaults". Among the presets can be language, country / region, the date and time, volume, sleep mode and the data storage set. The sleep mode can unfortunately only a choice between 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes.
Copy:
Simply select the display between black / white, color, single-sided, double-sided, change identity cards copy paper type, size, lighter / darker. Everything works fine.
Operating noise:
The Mufu is already quite loud at work, but that does not bother me. What I found less great was the tinkling that rang when you did something (leaves in the ADF, the panel use). But this I could easily fix on the display: Presets -> Volume -> "from". Higher up a whistle of the power supply is mentioned in a review, this is connect with me only once at the beginning, the network cable, occurred shortly and then never again. But I found it rather than quietly, although I am also susceptible to this.
In conclusion remains to say that the Mufu for my needs is the right place. I am glad to have decided to do it and recommend it with a clear conscience. Should notice nor positive or negative points me in the course of time, I will complete the update.
Update 6/24/2015:
After more than a year, I'm with the Mufu still very satisfied. It works perfectly, there has never been a paper jam. In all the time I have just bought a new color cartridge and two black cartridges, which are now three quarter and half full. Also the device without excess cleanings, although I sometimes completely power down there. Any disturbing sounds are never resurfaced. My conclusion: a good buy!
