If you should be willing to spend so much money on in-ears, one does not need to discuss replaceable cables that have to be included! Therefore, you have to risk to be aware that it will certainly expensive for a cable break.
But now to the sound:
Demarcation to Sennheiser HD 800:
The stage is actually huge, Feels similar to the HD 800, with its stage is already up a notch higher. The HD 800 is indeed the sound very airy / thin, but thus very detailed. The AKG is much stickier (not really airy) and, in my opinion, by a little more comfortable. However, this is a matter of taste. Nevertheless, the AKG lose any details, they are only slightly heavier to hear (it comes to 2D, not 3D area [near and far area]) In short I would say that the AKG something emphatic sounds and not as smooth as the HD 800 (rather slightly harder, as it should be in music). On the other hand foreclose the AKG off well. Therefore, the undisturbed listening pleasure significantly (both for me and for my environment). But I do not think he - for my feelings (I am very sensitive to what annoying continuous noise terms) - adequately segregating them in public transport. I can do this but not really comment on as I have not tested this. However, they sealed significantly better than the Sennheiser IE 80, which just a good seal is said.
The sound of the AKG (no special distinction):
The details are to hear very well. The stage is not only big, but also very structured. One hears exactly at what point is which instrument and may well assess how far they are away from each other - not only 2D but also 3D (not just next to each other, but also in succession). The basses are still okay, not too boomy, and I as Sennheiser listeners get up rather restrained bass. Since I am usually very sensitive, as it rather goes me to a very high and detailed resolution, as well as perfect as possible localization of instruments. This does not mean that the basses are weak, they are already strong presence, but the fact that the stage is as big, the sound spread so well that the rest does not go down (just that's otherwise the problem !!). Therefore, the here with the Denon AH 7100 the only in-ear headphones and I like with stronger bass, which I rather see the Denon for films used, less listening to music (I am writing this is why so debauched the most accurate idea of the be able to give sound as a sufficient amount is available on the Internet on the other headphones, unlike the latter).
The only downside in terms of sound, I see for myself that he sounds a bit dull, and I, I think, a strong tendency to have to want to hear the music clearly (resolution and localization Conditional). Unfortunately I can not test at home listeners, so I as a source so far only the Samsung Galaxy S 3 and the Colorfly C4 - which is only suitable known without headphone amplifier for in-ears, which is home to follow - is suitable. I have (without amplifiers) however the impression that the Galaxy a little clearer (for less detail) sounds with the "Classic" setting as the Colorfly, which is not optimal course. Therefore, I will continue to report.
The filters are very high quality and connected with a thread at the in-ear. The trick is to be damped that depending on the type of bass or treble. For this purpose, located in front of the "speakers" ?? or the respective drivers damper, so that then the bass or treble come more to the validity or not be attenuated.
The headset works perfectly well with Android devices. Even music can be paused with the remote control. A title change or a volume control is not possible. But that's when all the other designed for Apple remotes I had been equally (Denon AH 7100, Bose QC 15 and 20 [latter returned s.Rezension]).
Significance:
The filters, as well as the in-ear even make me a really extraordinary high quality impression. Both in terms of processing, as well as with respect to the optics. Nevertheless, I would have wished that the cable would be thicker. It really is very thin. On the one hand and the signal transmission would be greater, which - at least in my experience (s.Sennheier IE 80 and Denon AH 7100 review) - extremely beneficial to the sound (stage / spectrum) effect and on the other hand it would be safe for the durability extremely beneficial.
Price / performance ratio:
Unfortunately I have (what would have been an option for me) not tried Customs or heard their demo handset. I'm not mad or have too much money. I have the AKG for 517 euro at Ebay (beware there are usually the AKG 3003 without i, without headset, available) bought with original Amazon account for the warranty. Although the sound is in my opinion also clearly worth more (for a little less one gets the Shure 535, which should, according to the Board not be comparable good, but replaceable cables have), but much more, I would not buy the AKG also because the cable risk. If this should be eliminated would be talking about a higher price in any case. Whether it's worth 1200 euros I can not say. For me the experience in the in-ear range missing. He needs in any case definitely not to hide from the bracket competition.
Incidentally, I often stumbled over the question of whether the in-ears are actually manufactured in Austria. "Designed in Austria" on the back: On In-Ear is a be glued plastic flags (like a washing reference on T-shirts) bearing the words "Made in China".
If questions still should be left open, get in touch, I'm happy to help if I can.
