So why ultimately the Sony, where it is good 30-35 Euros more expensive than other 3 radio stations?
Appearance: This radio looks really great, no comparison to the above! The book paint finish MDF Design (which is not real wood, but absolutely high quality and easy to clean) of the body, the silver color of the speaker body, the black Bedienleiste.Hier all fits together, the radio is a nice eye-catcher!
For me it is in appearance not a typical retro radio, I feel the shape and appearance -Modern purist, well-suited to modern kitchens, for example.
Size: the radio is not bulky or large, but much larger and heavier than pleasant Dual / Grundig, yet still well accommodated on the windowsill. Here is also well thought out that, unlike the dual devices, the socket for the power behind unnecessarily taking up space on the device, but by their "bend-shape" the equipment needs in depth no more space than the device body just at depth has , (I have described the course ???)
Sound: It would be nice, of course, a fine-tuning for the customer been so pop, classical, language, or at least a bass-treble control, unfortunately, no such thing exists. Nevertheless, the sound is really satisfactory, better than the devices mentioned above. Therefore 1 star deduction.
Operation: Plug in, time adjusts automatically, stations I did not look for, contrary to the operating instructions that were there.
I find this button operation very well: Confirm rotary switch "Tune" for the station selection with enter ... station changes, "Volume" for Lautstärke.Beim dual 12 small oval pushbuttons were provided for these 2 functions: one has since the Kitchen a bit greasy fingers, one of the surrounding black glossy casing smeared when multiple pressures (up one has the transmitter, or just the volume) with the same.
Then there are a series of push buttons: Display: Here you can read about the signal strength to (so I just did that as well not understand what there still so everything appears) retrieve. But I have always the currently transmitted title / artist on the display as scrolling text. This is illuminated in blue and legible (when Grundig 51, z.Bsp. Not visible because the screen had large letters that pass through too quickly and was also not illuminated. Why do I need a DAB device when these great info are not recognizable?).
Power: This is the on / off switch. Unfortunately, there is no power switch that could turn off the always brilliant time / date (also a small minus). So one has to better pull the plug during long absences.
One question I would have to other users: the pre-programming with Tuning 1-10 I did not geschafft.Kann someone help me?
For me, a great radio, nice look and good usability justify the price.
