The author encourages us to unleash and develop our creativity taking an illustrated paper. This book is a sort of manual just tote the illustrated newspaper. You will find a jumble of technical advice (very little), topics ideas, recommendations to fight against procrastination, reflections on creativity (they are many), other themes and also many illustrations of author. The book is colorful, most illustrations are ink drawings enhanced with watercolor, the book's layout is very neat. The author addresses the reader as a teacher to his pupil would, as someone who knows and transmits knowledge. Unfortunately it has not sufficiently mastered the subject. Many illustrations of the book are not right then it is a manual. Take the example of the chair showing the exercise on page 33. The legs of the chair falling to the left and right of the sheet are larger than that of the medium as they are further away from us. The ABCs of perspective teaches us that the most distant objects appear to us smaller. Such an error in a book that stands as a textbook is not acceptable. While he proposed to illustrate his newspaper with observation drawings, there is very little drawing tips and many more useless talk, as another commentator has pointed out. He talks too much of it and do not even try to be part of a tradition as if he had invented everything. He devotes an entire chapter of his book to the resistance without specifying that borrows this concept to Steven Pressfield. This author wrote several books some are translated into French. He described some of the book Resistance as the main enemy of the creative work in solitude, the forms it can take and he gives us advice and assistance to defend himself be disciplined and persevere in our work. I recommend this author. Returning to "the Creative license". The pages on the sense of touch, smell, hearing and taste are very similar to Deborah Putnoï in his book "Drawing the mind" (excellent book that I recommend to everyone) without name or even mentioned. Dany Gregory is an amateur who has learned to draw by himself. There, he has published several books, at least 4, it even has an agent. it should really consider more training to be truly professional instead of selling us new books. It's almost comical to hear him denounce the art business (p 154)
