previously told me always lacked the ability to separate the good from bad battery, and without the possibility to be able to measure that which is extremely cumbersome. How many times I've been annoyed that a battery pack not last long, just because a cell was no longer viable. And I've tried a lot, had a wide variety of devices and eventually even itself (trying) to build one, but never really get the matching results.
In addition, a question of price, is worth investing for a top device in a charger for the everyday objects such as remote controls and flashlights, watches, etc. 150? This is certainly not popular, and even the go is not always easy on the battery. Therefore, the price of BC900 interesting - and even more interesting, the BC700, which would have been quite sufficient for me.
I use rechargeable batteries in particular for my SLR camera, as are with handle and flash cells 10 +4 Reserve announced, various instruments and the Haushaltskram, Wii etc, where the application also included. In watches I see it is not expensive to use a battery, but everyone must decide for themselves.
And also in the battery self-discharge technology has moved slightly in recent years, dropped significantly, which is a real shortcoming in the older batteries for devices with longer periods were not really usable.
But there was in the first experiments with the BC900 and problems, and it annoyed me that there probably is no mode to impose deep discharged batteries a force-feeding. I had read about it ... so use Had an old device for in order to have sufficient charging voltage once the battery so that the BC900 (like the BC700) the battery is not declared as a defect, it is simply too drained. But Therefore only 4 points, the remaining, technical possibilities are really great and very useful for battery-users.
Have in the first experiments with the BC900 my older NiMh tested, and as it turned out, in what condition the batteries are actually located, and could dispose of defective batteries. With my AAA 800mA then I realized, the 500mA charge current, the battery could be very, very hot in a short time, so switched to 200mA. Can set the charging current is simply important, and also can specify smaller streams is important.
Also great that it suffices to put batteries into the charger, and already is loaded automatically and gently, because then nothing can go wrong ... not everyone has technical understanding or would like to deal more closely with the charging features and testing capabilities, like my wife. Clean the battery and is well ...
There is an almost bad considering the various reports reads here like a battery to be charged and can. One way and another after that ... I set myself on whether the battery is more heated, because heat is always bad. And because the batteries differ. Usually I leave it even at 1/4 of the battery capacity, so charging current of 1/4 Größenengabe on the battery. In other words, a 2000mA / h because I invite to 500mA / h.
Who still has an old charger, which should not throw in the trash, a real shame that no attention was paid in the design on the over-discharged battery be declared defective!
(Or is there a way where I do not know about?)
Compared to the price of the BC700 BC900 is still high, and the fast charging with 1800mA in 2 shafts is maybe useful for normal use probably less interesting. In addition to this, good, newer batteries not completely consume their charge itself even after a long service life, and prefer to place a set more in the closet, allowed to age unnecessarily instead of fast charging the batteries. Have opted for the brand new Eneloop type and live in the hope that this investment also pays off. Although there is an indication that now may even be charged 1500 times, but in how long? For this I can not find any information.
I concede that 100 times charging the batteries in my remote control (once a year) well may be sufficient, but that's not very realistic ... 10 years life expectancy for a battery would be a good time. In 100 years, there is something better for sure how antimatter-powered battery or so ... and in 10 years it will be back for sure much better battery than today. Or the EU can again come up with something and sets guidelines, which may be sold and what does not (do not want to do bad, but can happen)
Then I hope that this charger and my batteries are to me for a long time give pleasure ...
Addendum:
What I especially appreciate that the discharge in mAh of each battery is shown in the test and refresh mode.
with the BC700 and BC900, the new Eneloop AA were tested.
It occurs to me that the battery temperature rises to 44-47 degrees at 500mA charge current, in particular at the end of the charging process, there is an increased warming (OK, is normal), the. With two chargers Room temperature was 24 degrees. Was measured with a digital thermometer already better for food and an accuracy of 0,1Grad and calibration point at 38 degrees (Probe). Certainly not a laboratory result, but a clue.
I assume that higher temperatures always have harmful effects, but there is a limit that is acceptable? After all, the determined battery casing temperature is 500mA charging current not far from the emergency shutdown of the devices listed above.
Werd times try a timer (to 3/4 of the normal charging time) briefly interrupting the power to the charger, the charger starts automatically with 200mA charging current ...
