Similarly groundbreaking as on their masterpiece "Reign in Blood", the Ami Quartet hammering through 10 hyper aggressive thrash grenades that have really everything that make this kind of music. Songs like "Cult", "Jihad", "Flesh Storm" and "Catalyst" spraying this wonderfully unspoiled charm of the 80s. The time when robes, studded belts and long manes were still de rigueur.
SLAYER have again neatly turned to "Christ Illusion" up the speed, and contact their incredible effective killer riffs, and the madness of drumming drum god Dave Lombardo, accents as ever. "Consfearacy" and "Supremist" come up with very minimal punk touch therefore, but are still purebred SLAYER songs. On tracks like "Skeleton Christ," "Catatonic" and the nasty "Eyes of the Insane", however, times two gears is then switched back and allowed enormous circling the Groove Hammer. In those moments you realize then clear how much influence SLAYER had actually on Modern thrash bands like MACHINE HEAD. Because especially "Catatonic" might as well by Robert Flynn & co. can come. Brilliant !!!
Although there seems to be some deluded ignorant who do not recognize the musical quality of "Christ Illusion", I can only say that SLAYER have delivered with their newcomer one of the best thrash albums of this (still young) millennium.
Spectacular 38 Minutes, which get under your skin .... by shaking a ... in which one overcomes the nostalgia ... and you guarantees countless times the play button press can. SLAYER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
