A charging cradle is basically for all Xperia Z devices to conserve a sensible purchase for the covers and so to get the dust and water resistance. This also applies to including the Xperia Z Ultra.

Regrettably, it has been compared to the charging cradle for the Xperia Tablet Z, changed the functional concept in two points to the detriment.
a) The Ultra is not held on guide rails but via permanent magnets in Cradle give always and Ultra Cradle and raises both hands needed for cutting.
b) The ultra is wider than the cradle, whereby the latter does not provide edge protection.

At two points then Sony has not thought through.
a) submit to the Sony Ultra praiseworthy manner, a protective bag into the carton. But packed into this bag that Ultra does not fit in the cradle ...
b) The USB Ladekbel is firmly attached to the cradle and IMHO too short. A replaceable cable would be better.

And that the price even beyond good and evil It is particularly painful.
Four stars because I consider the cradle for an absolutely sensible addition to dust and water protection plan. But unfortunately, the cradle is only half thought out, too expensive and should IMHO lie next to the phone in a box ...
