Aesthetically it's a beautiful device, small, light, wireless, not thick, fits in a pocket. No corner, everything is in nice clean lines to touch. Splendid.
The "Getting Started" is not necessarily easy for a user who is not familiar with computers. So I'll give you the principles of use of this product and its performance. This also serves to determine if that is what you need.
1) basic use "file sharing"
This unit allows file transfers between different devices. Although having no internal memory, it has several memory slots (SD Card, USB) to which you will be able to physically connect storage memory: SD cards, USB sticks or even hard drives. These memories will be the source of your sharing. (Note that the device reserves a little bit of memory space for the management of flows, not much: 0.2 GB maximum for 5 attached). Your Android / iOS accessories (eg tablets, smartphones) will be able to connect to this unit via a wifi connection that the housing creates. To connect, simply download the application "MediaShare Wireless" on your market and set the code for the WiFi connection on the back cover of the device.
The bandwidth of this connection is 10Mb and the unit can support up to 5 users. (Which can be variegated between Android / iOS). The file transfer speed level, if one user is connected, a file will transfer to 650 mega in about 8 minutes. This can vary from thirty seconds more or less depending on the smartphone. (For technical information flow required by the videos I tested was 128kb which is the most commonly encountered flow while the unit provided a much higher bandwidth: 10 000 kb)
In the extreme case where the flow required by the video file would exceed the MediaShare broadcast capabilities, there is always the possibility of repatriating the file on your smartphone or tablet to read it.
But I have never encountered this scenario.
3) family use:
It is luxury, you can share photos, music, videos, etc ...
The system has a range of several hours in continuous use. That's enough for mobile use but if you make a media party with friends think is they add a power source.

Before having this machine I was sometimes annoyed especially with my tablet as taking for recharging is the same as the USB adapter. So when the tablet was charging I had to juggle to access my media resources.
