I have this goal for over a year, and I am completely satisfied. The images produced are clean, sharp even at f / 2.8. As soon as one closes the diaphragm a little more, we arrive at extending the zone of sharpness to infinity. A 16mm seen a slight image distortion at the edges, but this is corrected smoothly with editing software. If you zoom to 35mm, one finds almost no distortion. My main use of this goal is to landscape, but it also allows for sports shots in adding a little drama because of the short focal length. The same, when you take a picture by pointing the camera down, the distances seem immense. The development is very fast, and quiet, thanks to the USM, a correction of the MaP is always possible. To protect the front lens (or use a polarizing filter), it will pay the price of a filter with a diameter of 82mm. It is not given, but the advantage is that even at 16mm we do not notice vignetting.
Most: - Robust Objective - Comes with case and lens hood - Quick and silent MaP - Low strain
The least (well, not more) - Diameter 82mm requiring filters - Lack of stabilization (useful in some very specific cases)
In conclusion, this lens is ideal for lovers of the great outdoors. Its reproduction of contrasts and colors is ideal, and with a slight retouching photos are straight.
