I buy me this combination again for old computers, mostly Pentium 1 or older.
This time for a 75MHz 486. This had previously installed an old Toshiba drive with 350MB.
With the disk I had maximum read speed of 2.5MB / s, write speed of only 730KB / s.
After I installed the 133x card with an adapter - luckily use CF cards that simple IDE interface -
I have a read speed of 9MB / s and write speed of 9MB / s - SiSoft Sandra benchmark 99.
Therefore represents more the maximum of laptops themselves. Whereby a 133x card itself creates the double (20MB / sec)
Of course access period also enormous. On 0ms.
So a CF card can speed up an old instrument clearly, additionally protects this the
Battery, and you can also operate silently / tinker.
So is for older devices as hard drive replacements by me only recommended, will be fail-safe as
an ancient 350MB disk, or even 20MB disk - whichever was installed.
