The Circle is a written smart and relatively smooth story that knows how to inspire. I'm not an avid reader, and then read and when times only 15-20 minutes, but the last 100 pages were read in one sweep. The story provides much food for thought and waits with a thrilling end. It addressed many points and problems that are worth to consider it. So the story provides much fabric on which one can think and not always can be found to the problems raised a clear and precise answer, because it often means dilemmas for which there is probably no clear answer.
Dave Eggers has got a lot of praise for The Circle, but need to insert a lot of criticism and often it is accused by the press or reviewers, that the story was indeed well written, he would the potential but do not cover the other hand, it is often said that the Characters were not designed well enough, did not have enough profile or would not develop sufficiently. I have to disagree, because many of the characters have very probably a lot of profile, such as Maes old friend Mercer, however, these minor characters always occur sporadically and for a brief moment, more like little marginal notes as there are always more generally or less directly comes to the protagonist Mae. On the other hand, this is also necessary for the two minor characters, because they get more weight in the end. Similarly, it is often said that the end is predictable, which is just as questionable as the end is in the last chapter takes a few pages and makes a jump, but up to this leap and conclude there is ultimately only two ways in which the story may end. However, this is sufficient in my opinion, not so that one can say that the end is really predictable, as the last page of the penultimate chapter is still a big question mark.
In fine undertone of the story many ethical questions are asked and addressed problems what Dave Eggers outstandingly well managed and the way there is also a whole series of metaphors and symbols in Eggers story, which is also not commonplace for today's literature.
