Even then I had flirted with LED lights, just because I was aware may be included the ESL lamps, mercury and disposed of as hazardous waste. But at that time the LED technology light bulbs area seemed still too immature and expensive and I had opted for ESL bulbs. It then lights of Megaman, the Mercury were bound as amalgam inserting in solid form in their ESL lamps.
With neat anticipation of my new light I had the package with bulbs for the whole apartment accepted. Then installed the lights, turned on the light and I wondered that the room remained dark. I had already read the ESL bulbs need a period of time until they reach their full brightness, but that was then but blew me something. Anknipsen times briefly into the bathroom or in the kitchen and light so you could completely forget. The actual purpose of the acquisition of the new bulbs, was indeed the energy savings. I had then been observed even as I simply anließ light on suspicion, because I could go in the next few minutes back to the room. Since the energy saving was therefore partly whistle again.
So I was so day in and day arranged with the lame lamps until it has served me really and I still wanted to try now times with LEDs. Current tests show that the technology has become mature and affordable. Just Osram had always reached top positions in relevant tests. Lifetimes of up to 30 years and more than 100,000 switching cycles are something of a rarity in the LED area and speak clearly for Osram.
So the lamp ordered here installed in the bedroom and tadaa, there was light!
In many head me spontaneously one of the first people who had then kindled the first fire. ;)
Only when you make the move from LED lamps ESL, a fall on what they had actually done any regression comfort technically advance.
The Osram bulb runs at one watt less than my old Megaman ESL bulb (7 W), but this creates a whopping 200 lumens more! Lighting technology, it behaves so that a lumen increase of 20-30% is hardly noticeable. But if there is an increase of 50% or more, then this is clearly perceived.
My bedroom is approximately 15 square meters in size and rectangular cut.
Previously were especially the corners, very weakly illuminated and the desire for a second lamp struck me often. The new Osram, my room is illuminated very homogeneously and down to the last corner. In the living room I would recommend either a second bulb or Osram with 10 watts or lumens 800-1100.
Like characteristics of light I would describe as a warm-white, but just like that.
there are other LEDs still provide something warmer light, but I would prefer the light of Osram. My old ESL seems almost yellowish, however.
Due to the high weight of LED bulbs, but you should be careful how secure the lamp is installed. With thin walls or loose plugs, I can well imagine that some versions yield under the heavy weight. So rather before checking again if the lamp is also suitable.
This version here is incidentally not dimmable! Those looking for dimmable versions which must resort to the Osram Superstar Series!
The light and the non-existent up time has, so convinced that I'm going to change in the next few days the rest of my apartment on Osram bulbs.
what I like:

- Very homogeneous and wide light carpet
- Very high light output
- Pleasant light that barely passes for warm white
- Does not contain mercury
