I'm using a first set of cartridges for months in a Dell C1760nw after the original starter cartridges were depleted. Immaculate pressure, as with the original cartridges. Not even the "foreign cartridges" option (or something like that) you need to set the printer driver, the printer recognizes obvious as original cartridges. As for life, I can find so far no negative effect; "Felt" they hold at least as long as the originals.
