use the Galaxy now have been a good six months. Was then faced with the decision to buy the Desire or even the Galaxy. The decisive factors were then in the end the better processors (both main and graphics processor), the bigger and better screen (4 inches instead of 3.7 inches - and AMOLED instead SLCD) and the built-in wireless-n module.
Clear the menus from the TouchWiz interface is in my opinion not really approach the sublime appearance of HTC's Sense. However, you can with alternative launchers (ADW / Launcher Pro) from the market because appeals very quickly.
The known lag problem is definitely there. For those not so well-read. A lag is a certain delay of 1-3 seconds, the Galaxy S has from time to time before it actually performs an action (eg open app, open gallery, etc.) that can he touch screen pretending. These lags arise because Samsung has initially used an outdated file system, allowing the use of the main memory is not optimally used. But this can be easily remedied with rooting the device and a lagfix. The lagfix changed the way how the Samsung uses the memory. Then the device runs, that the Desire has absolutely left behind.
Who does not, however, want rummanipulieren on the firmware, which can still access reassured when Samsung. Currently already haunts a (yet) unofficial new firmware from Samsung on the Internet around (Android 2.2.1). This will soon be officially released and can then be played on the Samsung Galaxy S legally via PC software gravel. This firmware fixes definitely the known lag, so that no more lagfix is necessary. The latest Android version 2.3 is already announced by Samsung and the Galaxy S will definitely done yet available.
So if the added plastic-cheap charm of the housing has no problem getting to the Galaxy S in my opinion currently the best Android phone on the market. Also, the HTC Desire HD for me would not come into question, since it personally is just too big for me and also a smaller battery than the Galaxy - despite larger display.
