-------------- SPOILER WARNING --------------------------------- ---------
The case is solved Katy, but due to the legal situation is the actual murderer, more or less unscathed.
The incident of the past remains unresolved; Rob had in the course of the novel some Erinnerngsfetzen, so it remains in the end only a single memory, and what exactly happened with his friends will probably never come to light.
The friendship between Rob and Cassie breaks, and that's the really bad thing about this end. Yes, it is cynical and realistic and very consistent, but here you have the feeling, that must Rob and Cassie the various difficulties would actually get through. Everything else works: The unresolved case of time leaves an aftertaste of the inexplicable, mysterious, which I attribute to originality and not apathy on the part of the author (it would not surprise me if Tana French would have an accurate idea of what happened at that time); the situation around Katy's killer probably occurs more often than one thinks and shows loopholes in any even the best legal system; the personal situation but I can not understand.
---------------------- SPOILER END -------------------------- ------------
Nevertheless, I give this novel smooth 5 stars - for an excellently written, exciting adventure that introduces especially towards the end unexpected turns and - will be remembered for a long time the reader - in any way whatsoever. No book that can easily digested and forgotten immediately, but one that captivates a for hours.
