Despite partly good reviews of the Sony Kitobjektivs 28-70mm, I was not very happy with it and exchanged it against the Sony Zeiss 24-70 F4.
My subjective impression
- The Zeiss reflects consistently sharper than the Kitlinse
- Better color and good contrast (you could say Zeiss typical view)
- Very high quality, good haptics
- Externally Matches the A7 (the Kitlinse contrast seems a bit cheap and the demands of an A7 not do justice)
- Pleasant Bokeh is present; it is soft and non-irritating, according to background (is not the approach the FE35 f2.8)
- Good image stabilizer (thus ideal for videographers)
- Continuous shutter F4 is an advantage when shooting movies
I must confess, I bought the lens for 750 needed. I look at the performance, the price for me is entirely satisfactory. A star I pull from, as I. Prices toward 1000 for the lens as too high classifies (also considering what Canon and Nikon offer in this segment)
Conclusion: good performance values at Fade to improve this. Image Stabilizer very helpful when shooting video. Who wants to have something special in his pictures (eg with 3D Pop-effect), is better advised the prime lenses Sony Zeiss FE35 and FE55 to buy.
