I am one of those people who always carry a knife or otherwise have it and I never go into nature without knives. So far I was (next to my indispensable Leatherman Wave) different diameter, depending on your mood, prefer my three-ply Finnenmesser, but that is me too good for rough work. Again and again I have experimented with low-cost alternatives and even found some, but always with reductions in quality. Since then I have the Mora Companion, I no longer wish to forego this knife - it has the high quality of my fin diameter, but is much more robust and more versatile. In a word: This is my new standard knife for every situation - strong, sharp, cutting properties and also forgives rougher treatment.
What bothered me in the beginning is a lot of plastic: plastic handle, plastic sheath, plastic belt clip. But if you have the knife in his hand once, then you will quickly find that it is on the one hand is very high-quality plastic and the plastic parts are very well thought out. The belt clip can be quickly attached to your belt (or a button) and holds bombproof there. The sheath fits like a glove and holds the knife reliably even without additional backup. And the grip with rubber-like coating is as I said very well and slip-proof in hand.
What I was missing on the way Mora Companion, was a hole at the handle end, about where you can attach a wrist strap or a piece of paracord. An inquiry at Mora remained unanswered though, but I finally found out for yourself that you easily can put a hole in the founding part of the handle end and even the back of the black handle part, there is no more steel. Tip: Because the handle is made of plastic, should be avoided when drilling overheating and drill at a lower speed.
