The processing of the flash is neat. Not as high as an original Niko flash but totally ok for this price range.
Is commendable that the flash is delivered in a big black bag stable. On the bag a hook is even very useful attached, so you can attach the storage bag eg on the belt loop. Furthermore, a diffuser and a flash stand is already there. As some other manufacturers could learn a slice of.
Flash:
I tested the flash on a Nikon D3100. He was easily recognized - i-TTL works fine. The flash can also be manually controlled from full power (1/1) to 1/128. The lock on the hot shoe is done with an easy-to-use "snap-lock" (ie no wheel for tightening) - very exemplary. Lt. Nikon View NX2 used the lightning probably the TTL protocol of SB 910th
Whether the exposure is so precise, such as the Nikon flashes I can not test at the moment - but I doubt that after the first viewing of the image results, the exposure is initially ok.. After several attempts and closer inspection I noticed that the exposure in close up shooting distance (up to 2 m) was too low and at a greater distance rather tended to over-exposure. Appropriate flash exposure compensation on the flash or camera so you have to make depending on the shooting distance.
Until then, for this price range everything so far so good.
Unfortunately, the flash has significant downsides.
1. It turns off after about 5 seconds (but can be achieved by pressing the shutter button of the camera again wake)
2. He will beep loudly PENETRAT (after each flash operation and after each power / wake)
3. Yes - this flash unit has a menu where you can, among other things, these two functions on and off. This works well until the next shutdown. Once the flash is again "woken up" on the camera, he has forgotten all previous settings in the menu. This means in practice that you have to make all the settings in the menu re not just after each battery change, but also to each time the power and even after waking from sleep mode. Since the flash after approximately 5 seconds goes into standby (which makes it even if you prescribe a different standby time) it is sometime extremely annoyed. I was this very loud insistent beeping extremely disturbed (and that would certainly in practice other very disturbing), so I've left it. Then the lightning went into standby - reawakened via camera - and what does he do? It beeps again penetrant. Standby time is extended to 2 minutes and stopped beeping - Lightning going anyway after 5 seconds in standby - piepts yes .... at him - woke - and. I attribute this now discontinued on. The operation of this configuration menu is a disaster. What the programmer this device software to think of something, I can not understand.
What I have noticed: The change from automatic power zoom to manual zoom works - and so good that the flash even unintentionally and stubbornly set on manual zoom and you have no chance this not even if we proceed to switch back (according to the English BDA ). The flash could be change only to automatic zoom, once you have solved the battery compartment and closed again has (so you have to bring about by interrupting the power supply reset - gaaaaanz class when I take pictures at an event and the flash begins suddenly and expected loszuzicken ).
For daily practice, and I do not want to bother with such illogical and pounding trifles.
I had expected but a little more ease, despite the low price, but was very disappointed in this regard. Too bad, because the variety of features of this flash is enormous and is to come really close to the SB 900. But what good is all this if not reasonably be controlled by the user all of these functions and the device ultimately "does what it wants".
I then perceived a clatter inside the flash, which is not common in my experience with flash devices. The flash unit also has an integrated wide-angle lens (14mm) and a reflector card. I really enjoy working with the reflector card, I have both herausgezoen and integr. Pushed back into the diffuser unit (as I have done in all my previous flashes). That was the reflector card somehow not as good. Because she meant then having to say goodbye to the zoom head of the flash unit and tumbled until out of the machine and then down. I thought that was then again not so good. She sank while insert again in the zoom head and stays there, but only in a romantic escapade with the wide-angle diffuser. Well - somehow inseparable the two.
I have experience with flashes of Nikon, Metz, Nissin and Fuji. But everything described up to this point (downsides, reflector card) I have ever experienced in any of these producers.
Finally, the experience with the reflector card has then led me to remove my good Eneloops back from the battery compartment and the flash unit and its accessories to safely restore it to its factory settings, so it went back to Amazon.
A BUY recommendation I can therefore speak only for those who wish for a great price a well-equipped flash, but where the beeping and the idiosyncrasies of the device do not mind and also may even be able to cope with the loss of the reflector card. For those who have high demands on the reliability and mechanics and a well controllable / manageable Blitz want - no purchase recommendation.
These are purely my personal experience with the lightning of Mcoplus (Viltrox) and maybe not the last word. Maybe I caught a defective device and therefore lie with my description next to it. Therefore me tear not the one immediately in the air, which has perhaps had different experiences. For constructive experience I'm always available. But I think I wrote the first review for this device.
