From open aperture diaphragm 8 to the lens delivers pin sharp and high-contrast images. No trace of vignetting!
Granted uses the Image Stabilizer at 1: 1 macros not really, but in portrait photography even more.
In sum, the stabilizer is definitely worth the money and in my opinion very useful.
Which of course also offers the grandiose processing, fast and silent ultrasonic motor and precise focusing.
One shortcoming that I want to mention, however, no deduction:
with an attached lens hood the lens cap can not be removed / attached - too bad! And Canon also saves here on the tripod collar, unfortunately.
Nevertheless, a genial working part of my 50D, which has really deserves an absolute buy recommendation!
