The idea of Apple Watch also me has ever brought only on the funnel to try it with a SmartWatch. After some research for a model which works fine with iOS, you end up inevitably at some point in Pebble. Still I am fascinated by the whole concept, from a good idea to Kickstarter and at the end of the production. No big manufacturer behind it and that people have a free hand for their ideas. When I had finally occupied myself very intensively with the Pebble and the Apple Watch was not an option because of the price I ordered it. Also an important point for the order were the water resistance and definitely the battery life thanks to the ingenious and absolutely sufficient e-ink displays. The weight of the clock is really very low, especially if, like me huge steel chronograph is used to arm. That's why I've quickly ordered a black metal bracelet and made me of the device after the associated app was installed. First, a firmware update recorded (currently 2.9.1), then it can immediately go in Pebble App Store with App's, Games and countless Watch Faces. (Various clock representations, partially much more with weather, calendar.) Even old classics such as Casio designs can be found here. :-) The connection is made using two Bluetooth points, once normal and at close range with Low Energy profile which my knowledge is available from BT Revision 4.0. Disconnections and then reconnecting were with me so far, no problem, which is nice because that the SW can use as a normal clock. If you come again sometime in the near of the phone vibrate briefly, indicating that it is now connected again. Very pleasant, I also think that the Pebble has no acoustic signaling but only a vibration motor has a practical matter, is also very strong and really leaves no message unnoticed. As for the utility and the function and expandability can this concept really only give 5 stars. Then why only 3 stars?
Unfortunately, I am of the "package" was not convinced that the housing does not feel valuable and has in me even a few small burrs. The magnetic charging connector is so weak that I had to put the clock on the cable to have a bit of stability during loading. The price is unfortunately, too high even if the functions are flawlessly. A Steel Pebble is unfortunately again so expensive that one or the other a little drauflegt and actually buying an Apple. I'll still keep because I am still convinced of the function and for iOS is nothing better for a similar price.
