1x Corsair Carbide Air 540
1x housing accessories (screws, fine & coarse thread, cable tie)
1x Installation Guide
What struck me particularly possitiv, the extremely relaxed running installation process. Almost all previous towers I had (only the last couple such as Chieftec BigTower, SilverStone SST-RV01B-W, Corsair Obsidian 800D, Fractal Design R4) was with the exception of Chieftec (which had no cable management) and the Obsidian always associated with problems with the cable tidying. Either let the side part close with slight pressure or I had to block as much cable tie that I had even with minimal hardware changes "pack" the harness again.
Was the quality of workmanship in Obsidian 800D places still deficient (front panel door and power button broke after a few weeks off) convinced me this construction far more. The buttons are light and move freely. The side panels are a bit thin and not so rigid such as the Fractal Design R4 but not a problem as soon as they have been screwed to the thumb screws in the housing. Special eye-catcher is the slightly tinted windows left side that allows a view of the entire left ventricle. Nice, I found that one has apart the window to try it funny shapes, so it remains simple rectangular.
A mention should be made nor the three 140s fan of AF140L series. They are different from their reputation and quieter than I expected. At normal work in Office Mode, they are virtually inaudible.
A notable example I find the upper recess for fan / or radiators. In my case I have installed a h100i and both h100i fan (here however SP120PWM) connected and the two AF140L to the pump and driven by CorsairLink.
Unlike the Fractal Design R4 remains more than one centimeter space between fan and motherboard (Asus Z87 Gryphon & Armor Kit), so that even after installation of water cooling, you can still easily reach the upper terminals. It is precisely this point that bothered me on the previous case and led me to this housing to buy.
One more thing that is often overlooked: The plastic parts are not "fat finger magnet" but more resistant to dirt. The metal sides that's not quite the case. Here you can see fingerprints. Due to the smooth surface (unlike the Rave housing) can be the but removed with a microfibre cloth jiffy.
When assembling two things to me, however, are still noticed I want to mention and cost a total of a star:
1. Housing accessories.
Maybe I'm spoiled there and the times have changed but that's what could be in the accessory box slightly ridiculous. A replacement for the distance screw motherboard and a few housing screws. The six cable ties tear it unfortunately can not get out. When working with the existing screws may be tight u. U.. Which brings me to the "screwless housing". That is the pure marketing gimmick. As long as you have to pull out the screwdriver just the motherboard and coolers are far from Tool-free "Sure you can open the case without a tool. But at least if you vorderern the two 3.5" hot-swap frame with a 2 , 5 "HDD / SSD equipped one must resist the attack tool. I would have preferred to dispense with such statements and still sets purely a few spare screws.
2. The right chamber
or the air vents of the power supply. At a filter in the cover I can do without, as a filter my cooling is blowing out as unnecessary. Where air is pure but sucked it looks different. Here an air filter would be very useful. Fortunately I discovered dust filter 140mm black / black also on Amazon this product and will DEMCiflex insertion into the right door.
In short form:
+ Housing form simply ingenious
+ Access to all components easily
Accounts + cable ties orgies
+ Easy to clean
- Little accessory, missing dust filter
Conclusion: Who has the space (the case is 33,1cm wide - ie from left to right door), the part should be on and not put under the desk. The lightly tinted windows and tidy but only with 2xUSB3 connections appears tidy and reminds me a bit of a designer piece than as a PC case. Who can live with it to block only 2 x 3.5 "HDDs and 4x2.5" HDD / SSD will be able to get over it.
