I bought this Amplug last week. Initially, it is total euphoria: you plug the thing and sounds in the headphones. Then after two minutes, you realize that there are not 36 possible settings: For a clean sound, you put the wheels "gain" and "ton" near maximum and the knob "volume" 4 (volume that does not allow to be totally immersed as it does not fully cover the extèrieurs noise). If one deviates from these parameters, or you can not hear the bass either it blows through the headphones with the power of the Tramontana on the Roussillon beaches (it also may depend on the helmet, yet Mine is far from rotten). We therefore request the utility to have knobs. The FX function (ie distortion) generates no breath. But it is funny 5 minutes then becomes a bit painful to the ears (it's a matter of taste). Note that I play on a low "first prize" (a copy of Hofner Violin at Jim Harley who nevertheless sounds not too bad on a real amp). Connected to a speaker system 2.1, the Amplug a drinking his fate. The breath is least felt, by against the distortion is almost nonexistent. I connected an iPod to the auxiliary jack and there: no complaints. We hear much music. Obviously, everything depends on the material with which it is used. Is what I would buy this Amplug? Probably because I do not know of any other similar device. But if someone advises me another device or just a igh model delivering a clearer sound on my bass, I will divide without remorse.
