After a quick comparison on the Apple site has been clear that it is the iPad Mini 3 is an iPad Mini 2. The few differences (fingerprint scanner, more memory (variant) or golden color) were not decisive for me. I have had in the family a iPad Mini Retina screen without for comparison, so I was able to notice that 8 already led iOS menu change to stuttering and higher load times. So it should be a mini 2, which I previously intensive use.
I (2013) switched from Nexus 7 on a Kindle Fire, because I like to watch instant video and it then still was no official app, which enabled playing and but wanted out of the Amazon universe, because I, the tablet also my little brother rich at hand and not necessarily always want to keep my credit card in the eye.
How does it do to so? Very well, I take the tablet in the bathtub and am running music or read current newspapers by subscription directly on the tablet, which is super convenient. The sound is not as good as my Nexus 7, which I sold to me but to treat just low payment plan this mini 2. The display is compared felt a little brighter and higher resolution and adaptation (I use a Macbook Pro 13) with my purchased content is very convenient. Everything syncs via WiFi and I can start to read books on the tablet and then continue at home on laptop. Also a practical matter, it is indeed so well on Google Books, but here it should be noted that the Mini 2 by default reads EPUBs. This can not be the Kindle and also at the nexus, there were often problems with the formats. (But with different readers, we went there) It runs directly without further add thereto.
My iPad has 16GB memory to read and then I use it mainly to eBooks and newspapers and to stream music via Spotify reaches the well, if I have some movies from my library to the iPad charging it fills up quickly and the memory can not be readily expand unless you concern a hard drive that can be connected via the Lightening port, which is indeed the feasible, but the tablet is then heavy and unwieldy. On my Nexus I had 32GB of memory, but I have never maxed out, because I've never bought there films etc. and in general I have the Nexus rarely used.
My battery does well here 1-2 weeks with my use, but when I look at Netflix in bed, then the percentages eat just down to 1-2 hours Netflix can even take good 15-35% battery capacity. But it's not bad, I actually always enough juice on the iPad.
You can tell I'm really pleased and do not regret to have bought the 2er although probably soon new devices are to be announced.
