Shortly beforehand:
I am neither Apple nor Freak Android fan, therefore I am trying times to write a halfway neutral report.
The GT here listed for comparison is of course for the Androidplattform - its just easier to describe ... ;-)
On The Subject:
I had for 3 weeks, the Samsung GT 10.1v in honeycombversion 3.0 (loan) and possess now (unfortunately) the ipad2
A tablet as the iPad or GT are of course not only for surfing and email since.
This is supposed to speak especially for the iPad, lt. The reviews and comments.
That's where I get the crisis.
iPad has no right AutoCorrect and beats every now and then before a word to complete.
Because the pad is to Päd, etc.
Annoying thing is just email the many and write quickly. (As my old Nokia 3110 was better ....)
The email client is a joke, and reminds me of the old Windows for Workgroup times. Functionality is ridiculous.
The GT, there are several keyboard apps like SwiftKey or horny mail programs like K9.
Where this program is for Päd. (Pad has been corrected on the iPad)
An Apple user would ask what I miss since.
Then I go deliberately not a. Difference is similar for example Outlook Express and Outlook, as regards the functions.
The arrangement of the special characters in the keyboard of the iPad are not very intuitive.
When GT I can print to all printers netzwerkfahigen my pdf via app.
This is the iPad just awkward with special apps and airprintfähigen HP printers, if not at all.
This is simply part of the functionality of a simple system. Even my olles Nokia could do this.
Battery life is also as an issue. I charge my iPad on a daily basis in just 5-6 hours of run time. The GT held loosely 8-10stunden.
Apps there is indeed more than the androids, but are the most expensive and most important free.
Basic functions are already onboard and must not be acquired through expensive third-party apps.
And since you come on to the next point and actually
When iPad without jailbreak came together because many teuros.
Without this modification, the pad for a power user like me, absolutely sinnfrei.
The resolution of the iPad display is also much worse.
Unfortunately, this is fact.
I hear here is always something of a flash enabled browser.
Which should be the ??? Skyfire I read and tried it - to no avail.
Unfortunately, the Java functionality, which is cropped arg is, if present at a major shortcoming:
The scroll on various webmailerseiten such as Freenet does not work with the Safari and the Skyfire or Mercury, etc..
So also the actual browsing becomes an adventure, which the GT was not the case.
Copy and edit texts is also super awkward ....
Why I bought the pad and even come to think again deliver:
* 3.0 was still too unstable. A software update fixes this definitely
* The GT, to date only Vodafone and simply did not want to wait.
The launch date was postponed continually - now it is supposed to mid August be ready. but which only marginally
* VPN worked with the iOS better [IPSec] than with Android
* Apps unsuitable partly for Honeycomb. But sees the iPad as well, if you can run iPhone apps
* Max 16GB memory. That is too little to me. Alone through apps and music was there quickly curfew.
* Mono speaker at the Ipad. GT has in the transverse view left and right loudspeaker.
I'm waiting now to the middle of August gt what comes out and look at it and then I think about again,
if I can live with the negative aspects.
I need a decent browser and the mail client is not here, I get offered.
Would be glad about proposing.
A netbook is why I have not because I lack the illuminated keyboard and there are no clever magnifications
