Can be described as a mixture of forward and backward step the Ipad best. Superficially speaking, there is nothing else, than an iPhone in a larger format. It has almost the same options, the operation is mostly stayed the same - you can only make calls no longer with the new device. That's not so tragic, because it was Apple's open intention to take a more manageable handheld computers on the market, but considered just from this point of view, has the iPad (just for a price of nearly one thousand euros) have very limited options.
First of all, it is striking that the device is very unwieldy. From the format, it is about the size of a breakfast board, and as it has no fold-out stand, you have it in use either as a PSP in both hands in front of him, or bend on the table above. Neither is exactly comfortable: I have looked at only five-minute video clip on it, and had been consistently irritated by this operation, which does not allow comfortable reclining front of the unit. How to View on iPad movies, as the manufacturer promises, is beyond me - except, placing it at home on a music stand.
Even from its technical base deserves the Ipad the name "pocket computer" only with limitations: It is true that in addition to music and film consumption with the device also convenient and easy to surf the internet - as however already reported by various sources, is the Ipad not inherently compatible with Flash and Adobe. Although the necessary programs can be downloaded; for that but every other website now used Flash Player (the most prominent example is Youtube), this is a Kundenstrapaze that can easily have with a little thinking along can avoid.
Furthermore, the Ipad does not have built-in camera, and that falls even harder significant: Just as any Apple laptop is now equipped with a webcam, you can hardly explain why this relatively cheap gimmick not present in the latest top seller of the Group should be. I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the basic premise of the iPad is that you can take it out (ie, traveling, or drags the cafe) - Skype with visual contact can be with this device but forgotten.
The list can be continued with little things: Personally, I find the touch screen keyboard annoying and obsolete: In ATMs this principle might work, but who retypes even more detailed notes on the iPad, is thanks to the inevitable typos and the reduction on both index fingers black annoy. And to stay on topic: Why has this so expensive device that is aimed primarily at the mobile office manager, a virtual touchscreen notebook? It would have been a real innovation, with a plastic pen to scribble his thoughts all the same on the display, and these converted in block letters seen automatically as it can the Nintendo DS. Can it also three times as expensive iPad? You know the answer. Printing is therefore not possible at this stage also, USB Compatible it is not also.
One could continue the list, but I think it is sufficient, at this point it is again pointed out that the iPad is technically and visually almost completely congruent with the Iphone. While the above errors were forgivable but when the Iphone (simply because it was a telephone in the first place), you can not ignore in this prototype for a new laptop (and otherwise the Ipad in my eyes), about easy. There is a lack of compelling reason, the innovation, the pioneering technical innovation that could make a move to buy an iPad; on the one hand, if one takes into consideration that a) the vast majority of functions are included in the iPhone, which costs significantly less and is it handy, and b) that you can buy a top laptop for the same money, a camera and DVD drive has, and with which one does not have to spend the first hour trying downloading special applications for Flash movies and Adobe functions, so that all pages are displayed correctly.
But wait, there is one point that speaks without restrictions for the iPad, and it is argued by its proponents repeatedly: The large display reading a downloaded printing is actually significantly on the eyes than on the narrow Iphone.
But 800 euros for reading newspapers? I ask you ...
