I use the Retro 7 for almost 2 weeks and can say that the bag the best case, but also camera bag is, I've had now. I use it almost every day since I no camera rarely leave the house. According to Chase Jarvis motto, the best camera is the one that can be taken anywhere, I'm wearing in the Retrospective 7 around my small but mighty Fuji X-equipment. For everyday I put a Fuji X-T1 with a spare battery and a total of three lenses: XF18, XF35, XF56 along with three ND filters. Memory cards are of course mandatory. Here there's room for my NEXUS tablet and one of the more compact 1l Volvicflaschen that I can safely park in then still free interior compartment of the bag. When I reach for shootings (wedding or portrait session) to the camera bag, even a Fuji X-E1 and 4 additional batteries can be found an addition to the above setup. Here, the case bears still very good, the shoulder strap is in place, and the material makes such a durable impression that I probably could go on a world tour with the Retrospective 7 (and probably due to the wearing comfort and the unobtrusive appearance also will go).
A few words I want to lose about the ingenuity of the designer: I have rarely seen such a well thought out bag as the Retrospective 7! Here everything is right! A highly resistant Velcro fasteners, which can be burrs for discrete photography simply silently, a rain cover, which perfectly adapts to the bag and is good to stow away in her small storage compartments for all the smaller pieces of equipment (no more searching required) and a slightly resilient belt which probably makes the SLR trip for a few hours well transportable. Prima!
Let's talk about the criterion, the may well deter some: The price. This is indeed ambitious in my eyes, but absolutely justified. They give you a bag for life, the more robust is certainly as a leather bag or comparable canvas bags. I wavered for a long time between Billingham and the Retrospective back and forth, the latter has but absolutely convincing. For performance and appearance!
Consequently, I can forgive full 5 stars for 7 Retrospective and speak from an explicit recommendation to buy!
