The sound is pretty good. It is a little lacking in the bass range, but you can raise the music already quite far without that it starts to drag. Is ok for purpose, price and location, but there are of course better.
The app installation was smooth and went within a few seconds.
I have a iPhone 5 Lightning adapter plugged on the 4-port and then connected my iPhone5. It worked perfectly and sits quite firmly, but the phone looks good 2 centimeters over the edge, which is not visually beautiful, but the device was not well developed for the iPhone 5 Series.
From the handling, I find the "Boom Box" okay. The time was set automatically when you connect your smartphone. The course invites smartphone to the unit and you can adjust his favorite song to wake up. Beautiful thing! A USB port has the whole thing, unfortunately, and a remote control are nowhere, so it's only 100% fit when the unit is placed close to the bed, but this is supposed to be an alarm clock too.
Conclusion:
The Philips clock radio / docking station is okay. My personal taste is not quite true, but it all works well! 4 points in his category are ok. A real must is the Philips part here but not because there are plenty of great alternatives and well, soon comes the iPhone6 and the day this iPhone4 accessories appliance slowly counted ..... the clock is ticking!
Radio reception is via wire antenna in order.
