Now to the topic:
Now after almost a year in use, here's my short review:
Image Quality:
-ausgesprochen well.
Compared to the E-3, my model before the E-5, the more dynamic is immediately apparent.
The "Gradation Auto" function I've needed almost never!
Has also improved the sharpness. The is simply gigantic in the E-5!
That's me, especially at night photography, (about 20sec at ISO 100 and F2.8 (12-60mm SWD)) noticed for long exposures.
I now get, under these conditions, many more stars displayed than with the E-3 and, incidentally, with the current APS-C (X) models from other manufacturers is possible!
Very pleasing is the fact that now the ISO Auto can work quietly to ISO 1600. So far, at ISO 800, but no more than at ISO 1250 the pain threshold was reached.
Now 1600 is not a problem and in some cases even ISO 3200 can be used!
Features:
I do not have anything except a hot key for the ISO range.
Focussing is very fast and accurate, the viewfinder very good size and bright.
The display is not necessarily colorfast, but for my purposes more than adequate.
Excellent and otherwise be expected to make the automatic sensor cleaning and the integrated image stabilizer your job.
Despite almost daily multiple lens changes I had to clean the sensor only once previously.
And because it was windy and drizzly was only when changing lenses!
Robustness:
The housing feels dibasic. The build quality is very solid and confidence inspiring.
So far I had both in Lapland, as well as on the beach, despite borderline conditions, no problems.
Accessories:
Unfortunately that supplied charger fits only the original battery of the E-5th
While the battery of the E-3 or E-520 can be used, but must have a separate charger. Too bad !!
Software:
The supplied software "Olympus Viewer" is for average to demanding applications in order.
Very interesting and often quite startling results are to angewandtem art filters.
Of these, there are several, each with their permission!
A great feature.
Those who want the most out of the images get, I recommend professional RAW converter, such as ACDSee Pro!
Conclusion:
The E-5 has given me because of their very good image quality, robustness and flexible usability another surge of creativity.
I take pictures with you now more than ever!
