I am moderately satisfied with the Westcott cutting mat - even if it is available only to a limited for me. I ordered them to me to make my own work when card making and sewing easier. For the former, the mat is ideal because you can work there amazingly filigree with light material and little effort. It should however be mentioned that one needs in addition to the mat nor a cutting ruler, which should be as robust. This serves on the one hand, not to slip and the other one can only cut so straight lines and corners. On the mat, although moderation and angles are given, but if you want to cut a larger sheet fit, you can not see the. Thus, it is not usually a cutting aid as a cutting protection for table or floor. For the mat is also suitable only so far that you have to protect them from slipping. Because if you side a little more force applied (in my case from approximately 15 sheets of standard or 5 sheets of craft cardboard) slip mat on the table. There would have been better to offer only one side for cutting and coat the other non-slip rubber. Self-healing, I would not call the board. Scratches remain, albeit only slightly, anyway back. And since I mostly the same Kartenmaß need repeatedly, is the 'scratch' always rough and ultimately interfere if I want to leave it out of other lines.
It is and will remain a protective measure for the table and replaced a carton which you would otherwise put under. To replace the mat but also very good, after you stay here do not get stuck with the cutter :)
