First, it must be said that the publication in cardboard slipcase comes along and not in jewel case - but that's okay because the high pressure and the slip are totally ok.
The musical publication is what it promises: just reinterpreted French chansons - albeit ironed a bit ZAZ-untypical and had as one would expect with less freedom of interpretation at ZAZ. Although this is a bit of a shame, but it was almost to be expected, after all the artistic claim of cover versions is not equated with the qualities of singer / songwriter releases. It's just not really own and it shows easy.
ZAZ sings a little as if they had time to sing again. A bit dutifully but without really having fun, because there is nothing is really his own. "Neglected" it is not, but just as a nurse the child cared for their queen - with dignity and a lot of carefulness, but without real love.
But since I like the voice and songs are nunmal Chansons going anyway in order. It's just not an album to love, but an album, what can be good and love to hear the way, because it is not annoying but sounds quite nice in the background.
In addition, some negative somewhat low dynamics of the CD version. Who wants to hear audiophil (like me), should possibly prefer to rely on the vinyl version, which has a significantly higher dynamics. On my system with tube amplifiers, the low dynamic is quite audible, and the Loudness provides in some places unfortunately for clipping. The fall but of course only significant when care is taken and called a very good property with an audiophile chain his own.
Really good, however, the holographic resolution and separation. The instruments and the voice are beautifully clearly separated, everything sounds spatially locatable and very direct. So it is but it also used by ZAZ, since the mixing and recording is always qualitatively nothing to complain about.
CONCLUSION: purchasable, well listenable, but just no chance to become a favorite record / CD.
