After much deliberation I decided before this summer holiday season to replace my 10 year old no-name dome tent because of its waterproof I could no longer trust. Who has spent this year also on the Baltic coast in a tent his holidays, will agree with me that this was the right decision. On my holiday weekend it rained for 3 days almost continuously, the campground was about 2/3 under water. Added to this was a severe thunderstorm with strong storms. Despite these adversities my newly acquired Jack Wolfskin Yellowstone 3 tent remained invariably dry and sturdy construction kept the strong gusts of wind without difficulty standing. After this water baptism the Jack Wolfskin Yellowstone 3 course had my trust, it did not disappoint in the subsequent 2-week holidays in Sweden. So overall a 5 star rating for the Yellowstone. 3
Advantages / Disadvantages in brief:
+ For 3 people enough space (short trip); suitable for long journeys rather only for 2 people + Completely windproof and rainproof + Faster and easier assembly + Stable structure, good ventilation, 2 inputs + Good price / performance ratio
- Soil consists only of thin fabric, as with almost all modern tents * Tip: at the hardware store, there are favorable tarpaulins which, placed under the tent, protect well against water - The rainfly is fastened with hooks on the inner tent * These hooks are not made of metal but of plastic and I'm a little skeptical that this hold for a very long time
