Now for the projectors. I had both connected in parallel and recorded with the same signal. Both lit up one half of the screen, respectively. A direct comparison was thus given.
The TH681 uses the normal color on DLP color wheel (color: RGB) additional segments with white to significantly lighten the image. The W1070 uses "only" RGB color wheels, which should make the image appear darker.
To make it short. In Eco mode (I would always use in 2D footage because much quieter fan and light in a darkened room enough) seemed both Beamer despite 3000 to 2000 ANSI lumens bright and hard to be different. The slightly lower brightness is doing the black level of W1070 clearly good and liked better. Color is a matter of taste, but I liked also the W1070 in factory settings already much better and stronger than the TH681, probably because of its lower brightness.
But now the most important part: the RBE
Without any bias (except the knowledge that there is this effect maybe) I let the imagery affect me. In my eyes (literally and literally) is the RBE at TH681 unreasonable. Through the existing white segment on the color wheel comes the flash of RGB colors to properly concise application and annoying in every moving scene once the eyes wander a little bit over the canvas. And I've also tested various Seat Pitch noticed no improvement. All the more surprising, the result was the W1070. Now that I knew how the RBE looks, I discovered him when W1070. But it is much less pronounced and if not so prägnat be correct light flashing special rather decent and acceptable (reminder:. White segment in the color wheel fehlt.Geht definitely given the full purchase price in order you do not know the effect and not looking for it, he falls in little sensitive people probably not on.
Conclusion: the TH681 only humans can make anything that does not respond to the RBE or are explicitly instructed to 3000 lumens. He is also more suitable for presentations with little movement in the picture.
Do you want to operate the projector in more favorable home theater (according to Benq however are both designed for this application, see 3D) reaches for my recommendation for older and still 80 more expensive W1070. My opinion is therefore home to more pleasure.
Furthermore, I find the sharpness using the DLP technology breathtakingly good. Can still remember from school and Unizeiten to the often-discussed screen-door effect of cheaper LCD technology Beamer me namely. Then you let the rather sharp Kontratsreichen fazinieren DLP picture and forget about the small DLP typical RBE of W1070. Fan noise is also alright. Are significantly quieter (and more expensive) devices. But if you already anwirft the projector, you look certainly also a corresponding sound system, which will silence the projector even at lowered or middle volume.
Hope I could help. Furthermore, a lot of fun on Amazon and thanks to all who give their reviews helpful tips.
