Having just had an acute problem with a server's hard drive, which I could not clone by software, I was even happier that this docking station has transferred my failed hard drive without any problems on the new disk.

Installed new disk, server started, the operating system (Windows SBS 2011 Essentials) booted without problems, relief - all the best!

But be careful, of course you have your wits about you, that the source and target disk is not reversed, otherwise the data will be lost! Cloning works of Slot A to B; the relevant marking on the housing is almost invisible. The front slot is for the source drive, comes in behind the target disk, then press a few seconds on the button at the front and off you go. The circular LED display flashes to indicate the cloning process; in 25% increments you can see the progress. If all LEDs are lit, the copy is complete - just does not get any.

The connection via USB 3.0 I have not tested, but should have no special extent.

Conclusion: especially the clone function is so special about this docking station, and that really works properly. Super device - strong buy recommendation!
