Having aquired a rollei DF-S290 HD in January 2013 and this model Koolertron in February 2015, I can compare the two products.
My preference is to Koolertron, less bulky, direct supply 5v usb port, better protected from ambient dust, better quality of scanning 5M to 10M extrapolated if necessary, diapositves charger best quality does not hang unlike the Rollei.
Finally the price: 50% cheaper. Good buy confirmed.
