For SD material, for example, in normal TV channels such as Pro Sieben, the picture is of course faded. With increasing pitch can then but the rules. But we sit fairly close to the TV, since 3D movies and Full HD movies, the effect the better the closer you sit to the TV. And just in 3D we are thrilled it is also our first 3D TV. The KDL-55W805 uses passive 3D technology (passive polarization technology) which we like much better than the active. The picture is for our eyes not noticeably worse than the active version and the passive technique gets you no eye pain! That the image is to be only half the resolution of Full HD now we can not confirm somehow, everything looks extremely sharp. Included are 4 3D glasses.
For gaming it is also ideally suited for any delays during gaming. So far I have spent several hours with Fifa 14, Assassin's Creed 4, Killzone Shadowfall and Outlast. The picture quality is awesome, what was to be expected. A key point is that there are no delays / lag when typing and this is definitely not the case. To gamble so I can really recommend the W805.
For all Internet functions I can not say that I use virtually not at all. Operation is but child's play, I have the TV connected only via Wi-Fi to the Internet so that he can always download the latest updates.
For 3D one thing, the television is also normal 2D TV or 2D movies in 3D, etc. "simulate" and it looks surprisingly good. The depth of the simulated 3D is really great, and certainly even with normal SD television programs and at Full-HD material. "Pop-outs", ie effects that come from the TV felt out there is not the simulated 3D but of course. Even with good 3D movies, the simulated 3D course not keep up (compared to eg Jurassic Park 3D). But it's still an amazingly good image with good depth effect in simulated 3D.
The appearance of the TV itself is elegant, the TV is very flat and the frame is black with a thin turquoise "stripes". That just looks great, but the appearance of television was and is totally beside the point for us, however, if the TV can looks so good you would indeed mention;)
The sound is perfectly fine, but we have connected a 5.1 sound system from hell. However, during normal TV program, we mostly use the speakers on your TV, Blu-Rays and playing mostly the sound system. But the sound would at almost any flat TV not be earth-shattering, as well as with such a slim design. Said Sony has also "bulges" for the speaker to block probably bigger and better speakers than other TVs. As I said, the sound is okay and is also good, but if you want something with powerful bass films, series or games you need anyway a separate facility that meets but determined on almost all television.
Conclusion:
We are excited about the Sony KDL55W805. Primarily, we just wanted a bigger TV, because our former Philips is with us 37 inches too small. 3D was absolutely secondary, but as we have at home a 3D Blu-Ray now seen for the first time to have (Jurassic Park 3D) we are really glad we now but decided on a 3D TV. It's just more fun again with this depth experience movies. It was important that the future TV is suitable for gaming, with this Sony one is definitely well prepared. The price is indeed decent but not a TV buys yes happens to every two years. If you then take the entire month extrapolate the one with the television spends is then to cope with it. We can only recommend Sony KDL55W805!
