Our vacations are very action-packed and for the adventurous part of our trip stays I needed a camera that withstands everything. The AW110 and their successors are literally touted as a tank - so it had to be a camera.
As for impact resistance and climate-resilience, this applied also to always. Even the GPS was always available quickly and accurately.
Underwater Camera, however, was hard to use because it shoots reasonably sharp images only when really a lot of sunlight. When Hölentauchen in Mexico they failed all along the line, underwater can take pictures with flash you can save yourself because then indeed focused on all the little particles in the water - but not on the subject. Here could then only be filmed - but then in fairly good quality.
Fatal but did not change even when the battery flap closure successor model: even with penibelster thoroughness (cleaning the rubber gasket seal before each) was always water in the battery compartment. The case of a camera to 18m (!) Should be tight! A snorkel (!) Gang with whale sharks was probably too much, the screen remained black, nothing was more. Back on the boat to the water found in the battery compartment.
I let it dry for a few days, after which they went back for a short time. Meanwhile, she also works again, but never launched.
Because many other users have this problem I can by no means recommend the camera. Image quality and menu navigation can also be desired.
