The LightStrips-carton is pretty unspectacular. Inside, it conceals a very manageable, but easy to understand pictograms instructions, two two-meter-long narrow each LightStrips, a LAN cable (needed in order to communicate the smartphone with the lights or to the bridge adapter) - and even the just mentioned adapter.
The adapter has a hand powered, on the other hand using the LAN cable are connected to the domestic infrastructure. The two LightStrips need jweeils own outlet. By the way, let the trim strips to the desired length - but the cut ends can no longer be used. Here it would be more part of the manufacturer to offer different lengths. Also I find worthy of criticism that the strips are designed unappealing - and should be read between the individual diodes the company logo. Well, usually the strips are already mounted on the back or bottom of furniture - so often be printed company name does not evaluate the product at least for me yet to.
The Hue is easily downloadable app - an update is also already available. The app has a colorful in the truest Worstinn playground for illumination willing on his smartphone. In the application, you can choose from numerous predefined color schemes, or adjust its own preferred Nuance. Liquid the app runs on the Android smartphone, the strips react directly to the input.
Those who prefer particularly Orwellian surveillance technology, can its lights also program so that they illuminate, for example during holiday periods the apartment or house at intervals to deter potential burglars - or you can already at home with the matching color can be welcome.
Total of me for the interesting technique four stars - technology nerds and -Geeks be sure to the Hue-frills have their (quite literally) pure joy. However, the price is extremely steep.
PS: I've seen that Philips now available in length also offers the LightStrips as additional or replacement part of a meter.
