I do not know the original of Canon, but this lens hood makes a very good impression. I think the price of 6.99 for a piece of plastic, although still too high, but it was the cheapest lens hood, I could find. The inside is not flocculated how Orignial. The locking system with the hook works, however, the aperture can be slightly out - and forth. But does not seem problematic.
