Finally, a new part of the Splinter Cell series! As a fan of the first hour or the first part I have played so far by all parts of the Splinter Cell series with enthusiasm. Who is on missions with high creep percentage, is the right place for this game series.
Splinter Cell Blacklist continues the tradition in the best manner. Sneak, sets several aids a can off enemies in melee silently (finally explicitly only numb again and out of sight create), bring from a distance with silenced weapons or directly with bigger guns and grenades or mines for the route. It is again sneaking, climbed and explored much. To complete a mission successfully without mistake, you have to bring quite a bit as well as earlier patient because watch and wait belong in Splinter Cell already since the first part of de rigueur.
Splinter Cell Blacklist climbs playfully and graphically loose the next evolution. The graphics are up to date again outstanding and yet liquid, the sound effects managed and the atmosphere at all times consistent. The setting in the area of terrorists who want to perpetrate a new attack on the United States every week, although not very imaginative, but probably due to the current American zeitgeist.
Unlike some other reviewers, I can not share quite a few criticisms, such as the considerable difficulty, or the unfair or even superhuman behavior of opponents: Splinter Cell has always had a relatively crisp difficulty. But maybe I can think the only reason not unpleasant, I also the other parts of the series are all (several times) have played out precisely. However, I must admit that it seems to become a little more difficult to target clean with the small gun to the head of the opponent. Also it was enough with the predecessors to sit quietly in a dark area, so a could not see the enemy. Even if they passed directly to a. Here blacklist seem to be made more realistic, since it is seen here in the dark rather quickly when the enemy comes close enough and also looks in the appropriate direction.
The only real gripe I have to show, refers to the control or the way you interact with objects and doors etc.: You can open doors optionally or close, climb on edge, jumping over boxes, pick up items and much more. However, only when the game cursor is so accurate that a text with the climbing or Open option appears. Not appear this text, because the cursor is not exactly can you do with the subject of nothing or do not climb or the like. That is just in difficult or hectic situations a real "pain in the ass". My missions fail to 90% rather than the fact that I compared myself unexpectedly an unfavorable situation, but because not appear at the right moment of the interaction text and I therefore rather quickly to open a door and to escape, up out the other option, namely in all calmly unpack my camera and hindurchzulinsen under the door. Or that I at a double door - just open the second wings far and my opponent almost inviting, to illuminate me with their torches - instead of the open wing close, so that no one sees me. Very suboptimal if you have just a potential opponent on their heels.
On new there in blacklist on the so-called enemy side. Heavy Infantry, thus particularly well-armed terrorists, which can not be so easily off by far, as the common foot soldiers. Here is really completely clean stalking, but better still down demand a targeted jump on top of the opponent, so the attack does not go into his pants. In addition, there is now also dogs that are really annoying: Quick one will sniffed and followed over half "playing field" before the bastards catch one and try to bite into. Here a lot of tact and resourcefulness is again required, because the dog easy to shoot from a distance, calling mostly related human opponents on the scene - especially the dogs sometimes strike out loud, if you come too close to them accidentally.
Blacklist can be achieved by playing as either pure or as a Schleich game shooter like its predecessors. Unlike last predecessor of the respective share of stealth is here again statistically (Ghost style = ideally penetrate completely unseen, get the job done, and just as unseen disappear (opponents beat unconscious is at least tolerated)), Assassins (Panther Style = Also unseen and out again, but this must always be killed secretly) or Haudrauf-Menatlität (= Assault with full armament directly to the opponents on it - shit on stealth (ie more like a shooter) rated broken). Depending on the focus you get more or less money for his actions (the Ghost style is rewarded the most, the Assault-style at least), the following in new weapons, improvements to existing equipment, or expansion of "Paladin" , Sam Fisher's flying command center, can be invested. Here, the equipment's own preferred style of play can be adjusted - for example, so in better creep values or more armor. This applies often to find the right balance between the respective equipment upgrades, as more armor means, conversely often also poor creep values.
You do not know the game series Splinter Cell, you should be clear about the fact that it is indeed primarily dealing here with a Schleich game - even if you can just as well proceed with brute force and grease guns. Blacklist provides a crisp difficulty and requires a lot of patience. You have to actually proceed prudently and thoughtfully, you want to finish the missions without (undue) bloodshed. In this respect, should and will Splinter Cell Blacklist be no FPS, because actually you die quickly. One or two hits - and that's about it.
There are a lot of very imaginative and well-designed missions that take time each around 60 minutes. If you manage the level faster, there is a point bonus. Is saved automatically as soon as you reach a new stage of the mission. Even so you should proceed with caution at all times, even if the re-enactment of the already completed parts usually is not too lengthy. Just stupid, if you will just still imposes the last opponent.
Splinter Cell Blacklist actually manages to hold its own adrenaline level high. Sometimes you even keeps even the air, just to give yes no telltale sound.
I love this series anyway and thus also blacklist that multiplies finally fights for the cleanest possible solution to the emissions and rewarded this approach accordingly.
My only technical complaint is the amount of data is: Blacklist installed around 19GB of data 3 DVDs and has then for about 2,7GB in the form of 3 Updates (as of November 2013) drawn from the mains. So you have to wait a few hours before you can finally start the game.
Even the forced installation of Ubisoft's Uplay software I find quite wrong. Some of the input of the game code does not work properly, which means that I'm not content to download. For this you must have inserted at least, to play blacklist how I feel again very pleasant none of the DVDs.
Total blacklist is a must for fans of the series, a very good recommendation for all friends of cultivated crawl - and even trigger-happy natures find their fun if you can live with for the over pure shooters quite crisp difficulty. Most of all, just about everyone has some of the Splinter Cell series a very high replayability fun, bringing the investment definitely pays off in this game.
Finally, a few tips:
It often lead several paths to the goal, and the occasional detour may later pay off well when it comes in a much more favorable position behind the enemy.
The expansion of Paladin initializes a score multiplier, the better the Paladin has been expanded, the more points (and therefore money) you get for completed missions.
For different playing styles, different weapons and armor upgrades are required: Pure Schleicher should invest all the money in non-lethal weapons and stealth bonuses for armor, bruisers invest in large-caliber weapons and armor bonuses - and assassins buy best silenced weapons and must strike a balance in the defense of find-action and armor.
The expansion of Paladin offers two different ways to get at new and better weapons: The expansion of the prison cell access to black market weapons obtained (cheaper but not muted weapons available), by expanding the workshop for prototypes of new developments (there is very good stealth weapons). Depending on the preferred style of play you can save the money for the other area.
The missions of Grim are all pure stealth missions that are prematurely terminated as soon as it was discovered by the enemy (in plain text: Once the alarm was struck). The Assault-style one can not continue here. The completion of all Grim missions is prerequisite for unlocking the final stage of the creep upgrade of the suit.
The opponents do not go every time you restart a mission the same way. One should therefore not rely on the same procedure twice in succession leads to success.
Opponents with helmets you can shoot with the first shot off his helmet, the second is then only fatal. This also applies to opponents who are immune to sleeping gas. So throw only sleeping gas grenade, then shoot off his helmet. If you're lucky, the gas acts before the opponent can give alarm.
Dogs can kill you just by looking at far away from the crowds, once they have taken up our scent. Then come sniffing (but slow) to something a lot until they can hunt in a quiet corner by headshot.
The update "Pulse Tracker" you get to the third mission offered free, it should not therefore buy before that for a lot of money.
