For me, there were several reasons, the Logitech diNovo Desktop Laser Mouse /
Keyboard combo to buy:
1. My old keyboard had the spirit given up (thanks to a cup of coffee)
2. I wish a remote operation, because I my PC
use as a multimedia center.
3. The design should not be too pushy.
4. I love keyboards with short key routes and a pressure point, as
him have diNovo keys.
For packaging and outfit I say nothing, because for me counts only the product!
Installation:
I also work professionally in a data center and supposed
come up with something clear. First, I have the old Bluetooth drivers and
of course, the hardware (USB transmitter) away, because I problems
feared. Then I diNovo software and hardware according to instructions
installed.
Unfortunately, my PC got no contact with the keyboard / mouse combination. After an aria of about two hours, an old corded keyboard from the basement and some Internet-literature (forums), I found out that my old (mind Logitech) keyboard drivers were the problem. One should really banish before installing the driver software from Logitech every kind of PC and the driver of possible alternative Bluetooth interfaces. A manufacturer should already come to terms with his own software!
Operation:
I have the keyboard now for two months. In principle, I am currently very happy with the keyboard and mouse. Keystroke and -druckpunkt are very pleasant. I like the design and still the Mediapad has proven itself. During this time I used the keyboard every day and even had to replace any of the supplied batteries. Of course, the battery's mouse are charged regularly.
In normal everyday life (paperwork) makes the hardware good service and fun. If you, for example, when typing or playing is however pauses, then there can be Haklern thanks to the power saving function in the keyboard and mouse, so you then have to re-enter once (a button). It was also found that at high CPU load (eg PC games) sometimes comes to the storage of entries that arrive then greatly delayed and at one time on the screen. That is already annoying!
I have, however, noticed a few points when working with the DiNovo combination that I have not observed either before buying (to blame), or are still missing me as a feature.
1. Keyboard and Mediapad can operate side by side like a normal keyboard (is supposed to be so). However, the keyboard has folding feet, with which you can make a little steeper (how many keyboards). So far so good.
These feet are missing when Mediapad, so you no longer together, how can operate a keyboard, the two parts!
2. The Caps Lock key for large-lowercase has no indication of their position. While there, the driver on request from the press tones or displays on the screen the new state for a short time, but if you came from clumsiness on the button, you realize may not be the same (for example, in games), that with uppercase throw around. Here is a small diode or a marker in the display of the MediaPad would serve you well.
3. As a gimmick, I would still at such an expensive product to me - as a kind of nice to have - want a latching the MediaPad on the keyboard (eg magnet) that you actually can operate as a unit both parties.
4. I am not working on a garbage dump, but still some dust, which can then lead to service difficulties collects at the edge of the laser shaft in the bottom of the mouse in the course of millions of years (though simple enough blow for cleaning). If the bay would be a little wider, then the dust would not interfere with the laser.
Conclusion:
All in all I am very happy in the company. Given the high price but a driver installation should be mature and little things, like be an indication of the state of the Caps Lock key in the price. The feet while Mediapad have missed you. Unfortunately, the power saving function of the keyboard affects the operation of games a bit, so that what is important here to deductions in the B-Note.
