1. The lamp itself is a bulb socket with fairly long cable in which an on / off switch is integrated, and a tripod coupling incl. Articulated constructed clean and does everything right. This part is fully integrated into a rectangular, silver-coated reflective screen that can be folded like an umbrella. This includes a transparent front panel made of plastic, which diffuses light.
2. The bulb is a normal E27 50W 5400 ° energy saving lamp.
3. The stand is what is offered separately as Walimex WT-806.
For quality: Goods made of high quality material with very stable levers, switches and joints. The plastic parts are also of high quality and durable. The workmanship is good.
For usability: The lamp can be used only within the softbox, which is why you still need at least one second lamp (eg 250S, see below). As part of the entire lighting system is perfect for portrait photography. The tripod can also be used for other Walimex lamps; they all have the same system (tripod coupling etc.)
Notes: regular camera tripods are useless as lamp stands: too short, and probably not the appropriate head for Walimex Tripod coupling. The Walimex lamp tripods have a normal 1/4 "thread, which makes them usable as camera tripods - but only for emergencies: a good camera tripod has a support plate, not just a screw.
Conclusion: All right, just not complete: I have the 250Softbox plus tripod WT-806, a 250S plus tripod WT-806, and two small 25W lamps with their short tripods and recommend every ambitious amateur same equipment.
