My Canon iP 3500 (with well-filled cartridges) had given up the ghost, and was a Samsung ML-2165W (laser, but only sw) - a great device - replacing. Sometimes I missed but then a color printer. Despite the anger at Canon I came to the iP 2700. The negative points to the IP 2700 in the many reviews were familiar to me before ordering. You are correct - but bothered me not (otherwise I would have not ordered the printer). Even had I known that the iP 2700 through which takes in height upwardly opening tray space, which the positioning in a narrower trade more difficult (this is for me the most important negative point, but I knew that). The positive points are also applicable, therefore gets the iP 2700 me 5 stars. IP 2700 is currently (august 2014) hard to get - the price is considerably higher than in mid-2010 - a sign that obviously the other iP 2700 estimate (print quality) without special-service frills.
