After that everything works as described. Some gestures are only with the SetPoint software available (4-finger zooming). Everything else is under 17 Mint / Ubuntu 14:04 (Linux) without any problems. The loading levels of the touchpad to be in the energy statistics of Mint displayed correctly (100, 90, 50, 20, 5% and at last the touchpad flashes red). Under OS X 10:10 only to use for scrolling, better buy here an Apple trackpad.
Send some of the gestures keystrokes. 3 finger up "suppressed" the Windows key and opens the Start menu. 3 finger down sends Win + D. To use this gesture under Linux, you have to hire them even an action dismissed. 3 finger left / right corresponds to Alt + Left / Right.
The swiping do that too, even if you do not use Windows 8. Wipe from left and above (not separated!) Sends Ctrl / Ctrl + Win (order is important!), From the right Alt + Win. From below does not do anything with me. Unfortunately, you can not just use the OS so these combinations. It is possible, however, for example with the addon "Customizable Shortcuts" for Firefox. So I can now by a wipe from left to just open tab in the browser close (Ctrl + Win replaces Ctrl + W), a wipe from right minimizes the window. Also recommended is an addon that makes scrolling smoother. I rely on "Yet Another Smooth Scrolling".
The battery life is approximately 60-80 hours (I have not measured explicitly). That's enough under normal use for at least 2 weeks, unless you forget to make out the thing overnight :) The connection via the USB dongle I would note as a plus point. Immediately after turning on the touchpad is ready for use. If you do not use half an hour, it sometimes falls asleep and is only after 2 seconds ready. During operation, however no problems occur, not even when Couch Surfing (hehe). All in all I have done significantly worse experience with Bluetooth.
Perfect the touchpad is still not quite. If you wipe too fast, gestures are not recognized. I've often made accidentally right-click because I have too far typed at the bottom right. Full functionality with no additional soft would be nice, as well as a configuration of gestures without "hacks". I've read that the Logitech driver (including for this touchpad) Kernel 4.0 has been improved, perhaps because doing something else.
Conclusion: works just fine. Although needs a little device, but after that it's a dream. Strong buy recommendation for non-Windows-8.
