Here I want to tell you my experience with the Harmony 885. I had a Dbox2 and bought a new plasma TV + Home Cinema. Before I bought the 885, I have searched a lot on the Internet for a good remote control and fallen as my choice on the Harmony 885 was me, I still have times much time consumed in order to inform me of the 885. There was a lot of good and a lot of bad reports. So I was a bit skeptical when I ordered the 885 to me. There should be a lot of problems with software and they should be "difficult" to programieren (up to several days or weeks, you should allow for the establishment). Since I work in the IT field, it did not bother me that the device is only possible via the Internet. But for me it was important that I can control my Funksteckdosen also. I had read it (egg Conrad) should be possible via an additional device. So I ordered the 885 and when she finally arrived I went directly to the establishment. The latest software (7.2.1) I have downloaded from the Logitech site and 885 connected to the PC. As I had already informed me well, everything went very well. Now it came to the basic installation. The equipment plasma TV + Home Cinema + Xbox + Dbox2 + Funksteckdosen added, then the outputs of the devices have been assigned. Now you will be asked which device you want to switch channels, with me it was the Dbox2 with which device you want to adjust the volume (Home Cinema), etc. The actions look (TV, Children TV, Sports TV, News TV, Pay TV, light, look DVD, Game play, listen to CD etc etc decorated. The actions "TV" I have several times set up so that I have more favorite channels on the Media button. eg on children TV 16 children's channels, sports 16 sports channels on TV News the news channel. It's nähmlich only possible 16 channels to assign for each action. Then another quickly downloaded the logos of the transmitter and added to the preferred channels. So you can the channel with a keystroke eg 151 xyz Select by Logo. It makes sense to Before installing its device names + at which ports which devices are connected to write down. So now the first configuration ready (duration approx 5 hours) was then it went to the fine tuning. A key of Dbox2 I had to teach, and then she too went super , I still had the "pause time" to adjust between the signals so that Dbox better responded. So now everything was super. Until now it was duty now comes the freestyle, I have the (Conrad IR-RF converter) is connected and set to the 885. Believe it or not now even the light goes on the 885. It is so awesome, I turn to look at TV and already goes to the TV, the Dbox2, the Cinema system (passive Ambilight) is turned on, the light in the display case goes to. I have now instead of 1 TV remote control (50 keys) + Home Cinema (50 keys) + + Dbox2 remote light remote control only a Harmony and everything goes much even with a touch of a button.
Now for processing: The 885 is very well made, the problems with the charger I can not confirm. The display is not the best but it's good. Overall, the 885 makes a very high-quality impression.
The software: I find very good, from the alleged bugs I have not noticed (ok 2-3 timeouts when I thought about what long as I do). I can only speak for the version 7.2.1. I find that you can use them quite intuitive.
Conclusion: some preparation, some reading, some information about its equipment, a small plan what you want, such as taxes and the decor is done very quickly. But you should expect but per unit have 1 hour. You should exercise a little care when setting up and then the Harmony really is the best remote control you can imagine. With us now to set everything even my wife and children, you can tell not at all the one controlled by a remote control 4 devices. After the device which is added a little work and a little time costs, the harmony is really worth the money and you get a lot of service / performance for his money. The highly acclaimed and Logitech Free Hotline I had not yet avail thanks to some forums and InetSeiten.
All I can say highly recommended for people who are enthusiastic about technology. For people who are less technically savvy, it may be that the device is a little harder. But they do have the hotline.
I hope I could help you.
Greetings
